One day during senior projects, I discovered the most eye-opening set of insights about BIPOC creatives. It became imperative that I do something about it; someone had to.
The Beyond Project was born out of discomfort. Based on the 2019 AIGA Design Census, the Beyond Project is a PSA-style campaign targeting both young designers of color and creative leadership. Cleverly pinpointing the structural flaws that disserve BIPOC creatives and giving creative leadership a clear course of action, Beyond Project names the quiet part out loud and gives target audiences a clear path to action (execs.) and resources (students).
With posters targeting students at the heart of classrooms, spots designed to be mass-sent to agency creatives across the nation, and a social strategy meant to brief the issue in the first five seconds, Beyond Project became the cornerstone of my design practice over the last two years.
This project was submitted as the central portfolio piece in my AAF Most Promising Students program application. I ultimately received the award and was inducted as an MPS '25.
